Vintner of the Year Dinner

The annual Vintner of the Year dinner, now in its fifth year, honors vintners and wineries that have made significant contributions to the wine industry and celebrates chefs with local, regional and national acclaim. About 50 guests enjoy superbly paired wines and food at the home of local patrons of the Foundation or a spectacular restaurant. The first such dinner held in 2009 honored Ann and Dick Grace, and Grace Family Vineyards. In 2010 the honorees were Daphne and Bart Araujo, and Araujo Estate. Bond Estates and its managing director, Paul Roberts were honored in 2011 and Bryan Caswell, chef/owner of REEF, Stella Sola, and Little Bigs in Houston, Texas was the celebrity chef. The Foundation was pleased to honor Dana Estates and its proprietor Hi Sang Lee as the 2012 Vintner of the Year. Our Special Guest Chef was Joseph Lenn from Blackberry Farm. This year we honor Tim and Carissa Mondavi of Continuum Estate with a spectacular dinner at Terrapin Restaurant with local Chef Rodney Einhorn, who will be working with Guest Chef Sarah Scott of Napa Valley.

Pomegranate Festival and SABOR Pick-up Party

Acclaimed chef, author, and our great friend, Sarah Scott, is preparing some very special savories featuring our pomegranates –but of course!   Julie is putting on her mixicology hat and creating one of her infamous pomegranate concoctions.  It’s going to be a gloriously delicious afternoon!  The Guinea Hens and other farm products will be featured–we’ll also preview soon-to-be-released 2009 wine and do some cellar sampling.

Come join us for hands-on pomegranate de-seeding and juicing demonstrations and tips about cooking with one of the best anti-oxidant foods around.  We’ll be sharing recipes, ancient lore and tales about the sensuous “Granada”.

Chef Scott will also be selling & signing her book ‘The Wild Table’ that she co-wrote with Connie Green.

Tickets are limited, Please RSVP by November 9th
